Can we try it before paying?

Yes. The free test needs no card and takes about 15 minutes. A free account keeps the results and unlocks three starter topics.

Are these real exam papers?

No. Every question is written for Kestrel. We practise the same kinds of skills that 11+ tests cover, but we never copy exam board or school papers.

Which pass should we choose?

Term Pass (£39 for 3 months) suits a late start or a trial run. Exam Year Pass (£99 for 12 months) covers a full year up to the exam. Both are one-off payments.

Does it work on a tablet?

Yes. Practice works on tablets and laptops. Diagram questions are easiest on a larger screen.

Will Kestrel get my child a place?

Nobody can promise that. Kestrel helps children practise regularly, get used to timed questions and understand their mistakes.

What age is Kestrel for?

Children in Years 4 to 6 preparing for 11+ or independent-school entrance tests. Most families start in Year 5, about a year before the test.

Which tests does it prepare for?

Kestrel practises the four areas most 11+ tests draw on: maths, English, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. Tests differ by area and school, so check your school's admissions information to see which subjects it uses. Kestrel is not linked to any exam board.

How much practice is enough?

Short, regular practice works better than long cramming sessions. The daily plan defaults to about 20 minutes and you can choose 10 to 45.

What is a Mock Exam Day?

A full mock exam across all four subjects in one sitting, with a five-minute break and a parent report afterwards. Each one costs £12, with or without a pass. Every pass also includes two shorter mocks.

Can brothers and sisters share an account?

Yes. A family account holds up to 3 children, each with their own practice and reports. A pass covers one child; each extra child is £20 until the pass ends.

Does my child need an email address?

No. The parent creates the account. Children only need a first name or nickname, and practise from the parent's account.

Is it a subscription?

No. Term Pass and Exam Year Pass are one-off payments. Nothing renews automatically.
